The PQ Labs G4 overlays are a fast and simple way of turning large plasma or LCD monitors, from 32" up to 400", into interactive multi-touch monitors that can be used for a host of applications including digital signage, directory information and way-finding, wildlife exhibits, retail displays, digital whiteboards, interactive education, trade shows, real estate advertising and exhibitions.

Supplied with all necessary fixings the overlay attaches to the front of your existing monitor or TV, plugs into the USB port of your Mac or PC and a power source and that´s it - your monitor has become a multi-touch touch screen.

Comprising a frame with integrated safety glass, the PQ Labs G4 touch system uses LED Cell imaging technology which offers accuracy, clarity, reliability, durability, as well as support for multi-touch gestures. The new G4 bezel is narrower, thinner and with an ultra-smooth glass.

The PQ Lab G4 overlay is available in four different versions according to the number of touch points: the 2-point Dual, 6-touch point Basic, 12-point Standard and 32-touch point Plus.
PQ Labs frames can be supplied as complete kits to fit standard displays from 32" up to 65", or as custom sizes from 70" up to a massive 400" diagonal. To find out which PQ Labs multi-touch frame is compatible with your display, please refer to the models fit list..

Installation is very easy, as the video below shows. Self-adhesive pads, retaining straps and all necessary cables and drivers are included to allow the frame to plug and play straight from the box.

Infrared Touch Screen Technology

Infrared touch screens are primarily used for large displays, banking machines, and in military applications.

Infrared touch screens are based on light-beam interruption technology. Instead of an overlay on the surface, a frame surrounds the display. The frame has light sources, or light emitting diodes (LEDs) on one side and light detectors on the opposite side, creating an optical grid across the screen.

When an object touches the screen, the invisible light beam is interrupted, causing a drop in the signal received by the photo sensors.

Features

Advantages:
·         100% light transmission (not an overlay)
·         Accurate
Disadvantages:
·         Costly
·         Low reliability (MTBF for diodes)
·         Parallax problems
·         Accidental activation
·         Low touch resolution
·         No protection for display surface
